| Biography I go by my middle name of Ed. I am a relatively new ham - an extra class licensee as of January 2017, general class in January 2016. My original call was KE8CYY, but in May of 2016 my vanity call K8MEJ was granted.
I enjoy experimenting with wire antennas and operating portable with my ICOM IC-7300. I usually bring along a variety of wire antennas, such as a LNR Precision EF-Quad EFHW, a Sotabeams 80-10 linked dipole, or a variety of homemade wire verticals that uses a Spiderbeam 18m push-up fiberglass pole for support.
You can often find me transmitting a WSPR beacon on one of the following bands: 80, 40, 30, 20. I have a WSPRlite from Sotabeams and a low-pass filter for 80 & 40.
For the Spring/Summer/Fall of 2017, I hope to accomplish the following:
Install an inverted-L for 160m TX
Experiment with beverage-on-ground receive antennas - I don't have the space for a traditional beverage |
