Biography

Hello & many thanks for taking the moment to look up my page
Many thanks to HB9FPS for helping me get interested in radio again and "on the air"
Interest in radio came way back when I was a kid listening for distant stations on regular AM Radio (530-1600kHz) after the sun went down and late into the early morning
Joined the 11 meter craze back in the 70's when visiting my Aunt & Uncle in WV
QRT for "a few years" until HB9FPS gave me a push in the right direction
Studied hard for some time then took and passed the tests and "newbie" on the air since August (2017)

Some quick facts:
Born (1963) and raised in LA, CA, USA (licensed as KM6CEZ)
Married my XYL & soulmate from HB9 land in 1999
She, my 2 Sons (both teenagers) & I moved "a few Kilometers" from KM6 to HB9 in 2007
Operating Conditions are somewhat simplistic at the moment - "100 watts and a dipole"
Yaesu FT-1000MP, Keleman Dipole with microphone PR 781 by Heil
(hoping to add a beam antenna & amplifier one day soon)
UPDATE: New antenna (Mosley MP-33 WARC) and amplifier (Expert 1.3K-FA) added to the station as of
31st of August, 2018 so hopefully you will not have to strain your ears anymore just to barely hear me :-)
Many MANY thanks to Wolfgang Sidler (HB9RYZ) and René (HB9NBG) & Carine (HB9FZC) of Lutz Electronics
for making it all possible

Hope to hear you on the airwaves soon and even better if we get the chance to enjoy a QSO together

73's
Roger
