Biography

VK5LBW ,was born in Keswick Hospital Adelaide 1945 and have been licensed since 2003. .

I achieved my license when I was living in Alice Springs,

My examiners were vk8gf (Jeff Farmer)now vk5gf

and vk8tm (Terry Murphy)now vk4hq .

If you have any questions or comments, please e-mail me at vk5lbw@yahoo.com.au

I will respond as soon as possible.
From 1980 until 2005 I lived in Alice Springs I moved back to Whyalla and then Port Pirie due to medical reasons. I was the instigator of setting up the radio club in Port Pirie. TRAX FM Mid North Radio & Electronics Group.
My old call was VK5MRW.

Due to having a heart attack I moved to Adelaide because this is where I was always sent when I had medical problems.

My license lapsed in May 2014 and I went back to my old hobby of model aircraft until August 2015 .So as you can see I have returned to amateur radio with a new call. At VK5LBW shack my base rig is Yaesu FT 920 and a squid pole due to living in a unit and having restrictions,my mobile rig is IC706 into a LDG tuner and Multi tap whip

Elizabeth Amateur Radio Club - VK5LZ is where my club membership is and attend as many meetings as I can ,they are a great group of friendly members there.
