Biography
Hello HAM's,
Many thanks for looking me up on QRZCQ.COM.
My name is Boudewijn (Handle: John on the radio). I'm a HAM since december 2011. Most of the time, I'm listening to my scanners and Receivers. I'm living in Hellevoetsluis (20 kilometers south of Rotterdam) in one of the highest buildings of this old Marine city on the West-coast of the Netherlands.
In the '80's 27 MHz was legalised in the Netherlands. At that time we got 22 channels FM 0.5 Watt in the 11 meter band called MARC. Now we have 40 channels FM, AM, SSB 12 Watt pep. DX-ing was my biggest goal. At that time I was member of several DX-clubs such as Whisky Oscar, Alfa Tango, Delta Pappa etc, worked and confirmed many DXCC's, IOTA's and LOTA's in the world.
A few years ago I became a member of the Whisky Oscar club again. Whisky Oscar is a very active Dutch speaking (DX)club with members all over the world. Surinam, South-Africa, Australia, USA, Canada, Belgium etc. Many members are also HAM's and at the fieldday I was able to work on 10, 20, 40 mtrs etc. I liked that! So I decided to learn for Novice and get my license. I hope to meet you soon on the frequency!
At this moment I'm a active EZHE boardmember which stands for: Electronica Club Zuid-Hollandse Eilanden > https://ezhe.nl
P.s. my email address is with an extra ZERO before the Five: PD05BB@gmail.com
