Biography

Welcome to my QRZCQ page!

I am a member of the Thornbury and South Gloucestershire Amateur Radio Club and here you can see a post relating to my recent foundation exam pass - http://www.tsgarc.uk/?p=3490

My name is Ross and my station is located in the city of Bristol, South West United Kingdom.

My other interests besides radio are motocross racing, keeping exotic reptiles, DJ'ing, producing and playing live 'Techno' music and running an online record label.

I am signed to seven record labels and have DJ'd for over fifteen years earning bookings at various night clubs all over the UK from The Ministry Of Sound in London to events and club nights held in Ibiza for consecutive summers.

I have been monitoring various air ways for twenty plus years starting with airband radios and ater years of collecting radios and being a 'shortwave listener' I have recently passed the foundation exam.My favourite bands are 40 meters and 20 meters. My current radio set up is pictured and consists of an Icom 7610 running a bi directonal dual beam pro antenna on a 10 meter telescopic mast which is grounded in the garden at my QTH.

I am restricted for a full size mono band antenna due to restrictions at my QTH, my current antenna is 5 meters in length, but I plan to install a lattice mast and raise the current antenna to 20 meters above ground so I will upload new photos as I install the new setup.

Here is a link to the Dual Beam antenna I am currently using to operate with -https://www.proantennas.co.uk/dual-beam-pro

If I have visited your page it is because we have made a contact and I have added you to the log or I have heard you on the air whilst surfing the bands !

Thanks for visiting my page and good luck in the DX !!
