Ham radio for 45 years, on and off the air due to work and family commitments.
Passed my exams in the Netherlands and hold the PE1CHD call sign.(Full license)
Currently living and working in the UK with call sign M0XPA. (Full license)
I am mainly QRV on 2m, 70cm, 23cm, 13cm and 3cm, mainly in linear modes.
I am an RF and Microwave principle engineer and currently Engineering Project Manager for the SKA Radio telescope.
My interests include DIY radios, transmitters and Antennas. My passion is weak signal detection and designing solid-state high power RF Amplifiers and experimenting with Antennas, I hope to get an EME station for the 23 and 13cm (and maybe 3cm) up an running, almost there but still work and family have priority. IC821H for 144Mhz and 432 Mhz, using LPDA
23 cm homebrew transverter, 70W RF PA,2x55 element yagi antenna
13cm homebrew transverter 60W RFPA, LPDA and a small dish (1 meter).
3cm: homebrew and standard gain horn
HF: Icom 706M2. multiband GP.
I have a full set of RF test equipment in the shack: VNA, SGs, PM, etc, to assist me in teh building of projects and repairing of (test) equipment.
