Biography

My name is Patrick Muthler. I am 58 years old and been in Ham Radio for about 15 years or so. I find it really enjoyable to talk to new people from far away places. I always have had an interest ShortWave Communications and listening to Hams talk to one another, as a hobby growing up. I have had a interest in Electronics and tinkering with old radios to try to make them better. I took a electronics class in high school as an elective course and always have had an interest in tinkering with electronic components and making electronic circuits. I went on to bigger aspects of Electricity, after serving in the US Navy, by taking an Industrial Electricity course for 2 years at a vocational school in Louisville, Ky. I done this because of being an disabled Navy Veteran and taking Vocational Rehabilitation provided by the VA. I worked 2 years as a Electrician's Apprentice working Non Union. After doing this I became a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. I completed a 5 year apprenticeship which was titled the National Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee NJATC, from 1992-1997. I have graduated from this school and have been a Union Electrician working in Various states, for about 30 years.
I am currently retired now from the IBEW because of having to have a knee replacement, and can no longer perform my duties as a Union Electrician fully. I am currently involved in outreach in my local church, and having Bible Studies and fellowship in my home with other in my church. I am happily married to my beautiful wife Cheryl of 25 years.
Since I have been retired I have other things to do to occupy my time. I like to create crafts with a laser cutter and engraver that I got for for Christmas, and also doing 3D Printing when I have extra time, for my friends whenever I can.

Feel free to contact me anytime whenever you can! Have a blessed day!

Equipment

I am currently using a Icom IC-7300, a MFJ Deluxe Versa Tuner, and also using an Butternut 160-10m 30' Vertical Antenna. I have also used in the past, an Kenwood TS-140S Transceiver, with a
Signalink USB, for Digital modes, and an old Kenwood TS-520S, mainly for SSB Voice Communications. I am currently operating on DMR, Digital Mobile Radio with an Anytone 878UVII plus. I have an SkyBridge Hotspot that I use and operate on the Brandmeister Network. You can reach me if you operate on DMR by my DMR ID which is 3182615. I am sometimes on the talkgroup 91, or the Kentucky Talkgroup, or the USA Talkgroup. I mainly operate on 20m during the day, along with 15m, or 10m during the day, At night I can be found on 40 or 80m. If you operate on the digital modes, you can mainly also catch me on 20m at 14230 USB/Data, for SSTV Transmissions. I use either Ham Radio Deluxe Digital Master on the newer version or the Slow Scan TV Software MMSSTV on the same Frequency
