Biography

Hi, TNX for checking my page! Jim here, I am new to HAM Radio world, just receiving my TECH-LIC in May 2018, Upgraded to General, Completed 9/22/2018 /AG), I have some 30+ years working for DoD/ DoN in the Electronics area, along with; Security/ Loss & Prevention and Cyber Security for the later 15 years. HAM radio has been a long time interest of mine, ever since my CB days of the Seventies, and even before repairing old Short wave receivers as a kid. So now I am pursuing HAM Operation into retirement. I am also active on Simulated HAM Radio, Hamsphere 3 & 4 internet radio, and enjoy the many HAM traditional ELMERS, along with the HS -ELMERS on that platform as well, which has help me get back radio skills while working on my HAM-LIC.
Currently residing in Silverdale WA, (KEYPORT, WA.), after retirement from DoN GOV. Public Service. Transplanted from Missoula MT in JAN. 1986, I have also worked short careers in Culinary Arts, Rail Road Train Service, (BNRR), & Maritime Service as a LIC. Master of 100 GT Vessels, with Sailing & Towing endorsements & Vessel OPs Instruction.
I enjoy Radio Phone the most, SSB, experimenting with antennas, & trying my hand @ DX-ing with limited barefoot station equipment..Just acquired a AMERITRON AL-811, wating for antenna change to pit it into operation.
73's hope to catch you on the Air, VHF/ UHF/ HF HAM Bands, or on HS4..(2HS2068/ now KI7WZB)
