Biography

My husband and I got into ham radio, strictly for survival purposes, at first. We purchased a Bao Feng BF-F8HP from our friends at AMP3. We both got our Technician's license, and thought we would stop there. Needless to say, four years later, we have acquired 4 handhelds, 5 radios, and several antennas. As well we have acquired our Extra Class licenses, VE certification, and ARES membership. We belong to the Roger's County Wireless Association (RCWA), and the ARRL. I belong to the YLRL as well.
I have Wires X, and enjoy being able to talk to my friends in Oklahoma on Sunday night on Oklahoma Link , because I am staying in Kansas a lot.We get our Storm Spotter Certification every year, and have completed our FEMA certification for ARES.
We have grown to really enjoy ham radio, because the people are so helpful and kind.
Anyway, that's is my ham radio background story.
