Biography

Started back in 1969 with Handheld CB walkie talkies. EVentually getting an Archer Realistic CB with morse code. Thourght my child hood I eventually got my first real mobile radio, Robyn SX-101 23 Channel cb. Then came the 23 channel SBE Sidebander II and talking on sideband with just 12 watts to canada opened me up to new horizons. 1981 took a 29 year break before coming back on Marh 10, 2010. In January 2014 Got my tech and in 2017 got my general. Throughout the years I had varios transceivers, both 10/11 meters and than started with HF transceivers, such as the FT-101 Mark 2, Yaesu FT-800, 900, 991A, 757 GXii, FTDX-3000d, Yaesu FT-10000 Mark V and finally the FTDX-101MP.

With my current setup of antenna's being window sided, there are a lot of areas I can't receive so I just make the best of it. I get traffic from South America, Austila, Ireland, England, Greenland, Germany, Parts of Canada, Jamica, Puerto Rico, Spain, and about 3 or 4 more countries. Never Russia, China from my present location.

Never made contact with India, Hong Kong, Japan and most of, if not all of the middle east on the African continent from present location. Previous location, yes, I was top sided.

Looking to move where I can at least go topside with a ground plane antenna. Beam wise, I would prefer something like the old school PDL2. But would be happy with a Ground Plane Top Side.
