Biography

I work most of the HF phone bands and especially enjoy ragchewing on 80 and 40 meters. I also get a kick out of unusual and surprising VHF contacts.

Equipment

HF: The "go-to" radio is an Icom IC-7600, backed up by an Icom IC-706MKIIG and supported by an Ameritron ALS600. Also in line is a Kenwood TS-590S. VHF/UHF: A Yaesu FT-7800, FT-8800 and an Alinco DR-235 fill the bill for the 2m, 1.25m and 70cm bands.

HF radios feed one-of-two, 90ยบ opposed, 6-80 meter OCF, inverted-V dipoles plus a 10 meter vertical. VHF/UHF signals are exchanged through various ground plane and Yagi style antennas.
