Biography

I was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in the Pocono's. My father was a HAM in the 70s (WB3BYP) when I got my first exposure to ham radio. I tried for my novice. I passed the code test but didn't pass the written exam. I was 13 at the time and more interested in music. However, I continued after that studying electronics off and on through out my years. Later, my father changed to a vanity call of K3RJG and now lives in Delaware.

I went on to college and studied church music and became a music director in Lake City, Fl. where I caught up to what became my 2 elmers: Colon (WA5RKR) and Richard (KE4BQI). This was some time later than my first exam (at the age of 46). I passed all three tests and also took the VE exam. I started out as KI4TRQ in Lake City, Fl. A few years later, I said "Goodbye" to Fl. and moved to Greeneville, TN. (my wife's hometown) to help with family medical issues.

While in Greeneville, I became involved with the Andrew Johnson Amateur Radio Club (AJARC) and the Greene County ARES. My call sign changed to a new vanity K4EAG. I became a VE with Western Carolina and the Assistant EC for Greene Co. ARES. I also took the service classes and became certified with FEMA for Emergency Management Radio Operation.

I was there for the 2010 tornado outbreak where we had an F4 hit Camp Creek/Horse Creek and was involve with that from day 1 @ "Ground Zero" in the EOC Command Center.
==GOD'S BLESSING ON THE VICTIMS AND SURVIVORS OF THAT HORRIBLE NIGHT==

As of Sept. 2013 I am enrolled at ITT-TECH in Johnson City, TN studying Electronics and Electrical Engineering. I graduated in June 2015 with a 3.5gpa - 3rd in my class.

I continue in my local services helping the community with both AJARC and ARES up until 2015 when I returned to Lake City, Fl for a new job in Gainesville in the medical electronics field. I am now divorced (2016) and still serving the community with ARES, Columbia Amateur Radio Society, and ARRL VE.

ONE MORE THING...I DO NOT SASE QSL CARDS!!!! I'll pay for my stamps and send QSL's to anyone who asks. In the same mannor - I WILL NOT send money for someone else's mail. I'll pay for mine - you can pay for yours -THAT'S FAIR in my book. This excludes Special Events that would have to send out thousands of QSLs for the event.
