Biography

Hi Jim here G7TFX photograph is of me and my friend Tom M0HYE I am operating Dstar at last years 13 Colonies event I work all ham bands HF,Vhf,Uhf DSTAR DMR and some times Fusion.I am also a member of the DADARS, DURHAM and DISTRICT AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY and formally GLARES Radio society which was disbanded.

Our meetings are every Wednesday from around 1830 till 2100 hrs at our radio room in Bowburn Community Centre just off the A1M motorway at the Durham services exit.

I am active in all our club nets on 2 mtrs 6 mtrs and 4 mtrs and we are a bonus station in the 13 Colonies event run every year in the USA our call sign for this event is GB13COL this year we managed to achieve a total of 6550 contacts in very poor band conditions and as usual the club operated 24 hours a day ( minus some sleep time usually when the bands died off around 4 am ish) and we look forward to next year's event.

If you hear me on the bands please give me a call I intend to do more qrp portable work this year if possible due to the lockdown because of Covid-19 this has not been possible yet thanks for looking up my information and 73 keep the bands alive.
