Biography

I was first licensed as WB6TMU in 1977--I have long lost that first license but that is the year of my first contact in that year's logbook. I then moved to Missouri and then Nebraska with the call KA0CAJ. There I upgraded to Extra and asked for one of the 1X2 calls, but by some mixup I received AA0AA, a call that is long phonetically but short and easy for CW.

I live part of the year in the U.S. and part in Mexico. My call in México is XE1/AA0AA and am active as a new member of the Radio Club de Tulancingo, Tulancingo, Hidalgo, México. (Grid square in Mexico: EL00pc)

I enjoy DX and am active in Mexico mostly on 40m - 10m, all modes, but I am just learning the digital modes. In the U.S. I am active when I am there on the same bands but mostly CW and SSB QRP from Nebraska and Montana, depending on the season. If you would like a contact with me, send me an email and we can arrange a schedule. I have no problem with slow CW so anyone just starting out that wants a contact with Mexico should contact me--my dipole is the weakest toward the U.S. but I will make the effort to make the contact. I am looking forward to re-starting the process of WAS, DXCC, and all other awards from Mexico so I will definitly look for your contact!

You may QSL electronically by LoTW, eQSL, direct to the address in Mexico (preferred address- See below) or to the U.S. address (cards picked up periodically), or by the bureau (U.S. or Mexico as appropiate, but that will be MUCH slower). If you send your QSL card directly to me at the address below, please include a SASE or label to facilitate the return of your card but DO NOT INCLUDE EITHER GREEN STAMPS OR IRCs because these might cause your card to be lost. I consider it an honer to return your QSL and since you paid postage to get your card to me I will pay the postage to return the favor! I will QSL 100%. Send me an email so I will know to look for your QSL.
