Biography

Hello visitor, this is Robert from Benevento Farm just south of Atlantis, Western Cape, South Africa.

I live on a smallholding so if you hear QRM from dogs, geese, ducks, chickens, goats, sheep and donkeys you are definitely hearing me!

I am on Facebook so if you leave me your Facebook link or name I will find you and add you as a friend. For professional reasons my security settings are tight so you wont find me easily. My e-mail address is zs1opb@gmail.com. I would welcome your message.

First license was ZR1CE in 1976 and only got back on the air earlier this year after a little 40 year break. All thanks to Tony (ZS1TK) who lives nearby and dragged me back into this wonderful hobby.

Setup is barefoot FT897 into a north facing Comet1000 trapped dipole facing due north-not ideal but I have plans to expand the antenna farm in the new year.

***Update 2 September 2018...

Still have the dipole but now using an ALS600 linear set at about 500W. Also as of today I put up an A3S tribander - only 6m high and fixed facing north but this is temporary anyway.

BECAUSE...

Next project is a 25M tower with a TH6DXX on top of it. My wife wants it up because it takes too much space lying in the garden...

***Update 8 November 2018...

Now up and running on 17M with a homebrew 3el yagi! Getting some 59s coming in so quite pleased with it.

The next project really IS the tower so watch this space.

I log with the following:

HRDlog (Weekly)

If you look for Benevento Farm on Google Maps, you'll find me there!

Thanks for visiting and hope to work you (again?) in the future!

***UPDATE 8 JUNE 2019 - TH6 IS UP AND RUNNING!!***

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
