Biography

I started the hobby in late February 2017 after my wife, Nancy (K4NEP), got me started in the hobby. I purchased a HF radio late May of 2017. Definitely still learning the hobby and looking forward to experiencing the many facets of amateur radio. I reside in Crocker, MO, work at Fort Leonard Wood, MO as an Army Civilian, and I retired from the Army in 2004. I am working phone and enjoying digital. Spending a great deal of time using FT8/FT4, PSK, RTTY, and using WSPR as a good propagation resource. I enjoy 160m through 10m for both phone and digital ops and 17m for ragchewing - very quiet band. I also enjoy building antennas for the homestation and for portable operations. I am working Digital with my DMR handheld and a Zumspot - lack of local repeater, and working DSTAR with the IC-7100/ID-5100a. I am looking forward to continuing to work POTA and activating several more Parks with Phone and digital QSOs, and a little casual contesting. I am a member of PODX 070 Club with member #2828. I generally post daily to LOTW, QRZ.com, HRD LOG, Club Log, & EQSL for electronic QSLs and for direct in the U.S. no SASE required, but International please provide green stamps for return QSL.
