Biography

I am a 100% disabled U.S. Army veteran; a VFW life member; and a DAV life member. Ham radio is a nice connection to the world for me. I am an avid backyard BBQ cook, and judge KCBS BBQ contests all over the USA. I was scheduled to judge in Belgium, then the Covid virus hit. I love to shoot firearms, but have given up hunting and competition shooting due to age and arthritis. The same holds true for scuba diving, which was a passion for me. The South Pacific diving was amazing. Gardening is another passion, and it is an ever learning process. Our pantry stays well stocked.

Equipment

I have a recently upgraded to a 15-40 40' Universal tower, and replaced my hexbeam with a new Mosley Pro-57B antenna mounted on a Yaesu G-800DXA Medium Heavy-Duty Rotator. I also have a Zerofive 40m vertical antenna with 60 radials. I use this vertical to work 30m and 60m as well, using my Palstar AT2K tuner. I use a Heil PR10 microphone, and a Radiosport headset. My radio is an ICOM 7300. I have an ACOM 2000A amplifier.
