Biography

I am a QRP SOTA (summits on the air) operator, most often on 40 through 10 meters. My primary mode is CW. I also use digital modes and, occasionally, sideband. Given urban RF noise levels I don't operate much from my home QTH. When I am not doing SOTA, I build RF gear from books like EMRFD, build kits, tinker with old test equipment, and plan new SOTA outings.

My current QRP project is working all fifty states during SOTA activations. I have thirty-seven so far. My current bench project is a four band CW transceiver.

Equipment

In the field: KX2, N0AS paddle, various EFRW or EFHW antennas, FT60R for VHF/UHF. At home: Not operating from home; neighborhood RFI. Other rigs that I use: K1, KX1, Sierra, FT857D
