Biography

 I have been around two way radios for years. It is one of my passions. I have been in the fire service for over 30 plus years.  I hang out on  N4VRD 145.330 Fancy Gap. Also W4SNA 146.790 Sauratown Mountain.    Thanks to NS4F for talking me in to taking the ham test.  Im a Member of Franklin County Amateur radio club,(AA4RV). Member of Forsyth County Amateur radio club, ( W4NC).  Member with OMiss 11970, Top OP July 2019. Member of 100 Watts & Wire  ID # 4299.

Equipment

 Primary equipment Icom 7610, FT8 with my Icom 7300, Yaesu FT 847, Flex 3000, Icom 706MIIG and Yaesu 891 for POTA,  Alpha 89 and R2D2, Command HF1250.



Antenna Farm 

The antenna farm consist of ( HF)  Hexbeam 6-20 meters 0n Rohn 45G at 36 feet  , Maxcon OCF 6-80 meters, Home Brew OCF 10-80 meters, 80 meter dipole and also 40 meter, 500ft Beverage antenna. ( VHF)  13 element Yagi V/H, Cushcraft 70 cm. ( Trying a new installing 80 meter vertical square Delta loop.) Yes vertical 80 meeter loop works outstanding. Intalled 40 meter inverted V for the NC QSOP 

POTA Antenna System 



Wolf River Coil with 117'' whip, Also run a little Tarheel II, When I can,I pull up a home brew wire made with RG8 coax 10 - 80 meters.
