Biography

73' I am Domenico IU5KZV, i live in the Center of Italy but i come from South Italy.

I started my activity in the 1993 with my first CB Radio and here was born my love for radio comunication, but early the 40 cb radio channels are become too poor for my intresting so i started to make radio listening on the OM bands using an old receiver for HF and MF and FM commercial radios.

With the time i got my first HF RTX a KenwoodTS940, i remember it has been in the 2003 and it was very very old with some aesthetic damage, it didn't give power in trasmition but it was still able to receive and for me just this was important, i started to build my first dipole antennas to receive.

During my years in University i continued to make radio listening, and i got my first VHF and UHF handly radio an Alinco DJ-V5E i remember that i was completly in love for it, it was a good wide band receiver for the upper bands;i changed during these years some used radios HF and V-UHF and with my friend we built alot of antennas, for HF bands and forV/UHF bands but we used just to receive beacause we wasn't licensed ham radio operators but just SWL.

When i goot my graduation i stopped my activity because was the moment to build my carrer but the radios was in my mind, i usually looked at the web sites of ham activities, usualli looked the radios shop sites.....finally in 2018 i decided to come back to my love sò i bought some radios and i placed up some antennas, during he same period i took the axam to be a licensed ham radio operator and in July 2018 i become IU5KZV.

I'm still interested to SWL activity and i make more listening than trasmission, other my interesting are HF in lower bands, VHF and UHF in SSB.
